    Born Johann Gottlob Klemm on 13 May 1690 in Dresden, Germany; he was the father of William Clemm. Klem studied theology in Freiberg and Leipzig; he was an organ and harpsichord builder, c. 1710. He was with a religious commune, 1726-c. 1730. He immigrated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 18 Sep. 1733; he was in New York City, New York, c. 1745; then in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, 25 Nov. 1757. John Clem died 5 May 1762.
