    Born Dec. 1817 in Ingelfingen, Württemberg, Germany; brother of August and Georg Gemunder; with Walcker firm of Ludwigsburg, Germany; in Springfield, Massachusetts, by 1852; with Steinway & Sons, pianos, of New York City, New York; in Columbus, Ohio, early 1860s; died Nov. 1884 in Columbus, Ohio.
