Builder Identification

St. Louis, Missouri, late 1900s.

Additional Notes

  • From the OHS PC Database, derived from A Guide to North American Organbuilders by David H. Fox (Organ Historical Society, 1991). —

Active in St. Louis, Missouri, 1988.

    Source:

    • The American Organist May 1989, 37.
    •

There are two unrelated individuals named Richard Howell. This Richard Howell is based in St. Louis, Missouri, and has enlarged some electrical action instruments built by others. The other Richard Howell (ID 2937) is based in Lynchberg, Virginia. He builds new tracker action instruments and rebuilds old mechanical action organs.

Research is needed to determine if the source here (article in The American Organist May, 1989) is for the correct Richard Howell.

At present we have no photographs that should be displayed on this page, though we may well have photographs under a related entry with a different form of the name. We would very much like to have photographs of all builders, nameplates, and other appropriate images in our database. If you can assist us with this project, please send a message to photos@organsociety.org. Our photo editor will be happy to assist you.
