Notes

  • Identified through on-line information from Jeff Scofield. -- The congregation, which had over 6,500 members when the organ was installed, dwindled and relocated in 1989 with a new name; the Gaston Ave. buildings were acquired by Criswell Bible College. (Database Manager. January 17, 2010)
  • Updated through on-line information from John Gill. -- The former sanctuary containing the Wicks organ is still intact and used as a chapel/auditorium by the Criswell Bible College. The original sanctuary, which had at one time contained a Pilcher organ, is what is being used as a library. (Database Manager. August 6, 2010)
  • Updated through online information from Stephen Hall. (Database Manager. March 7, 2012)
  • Updated through online information from Alan Swartz. -- The organ apparently fell into disuse at some point in the past. Pipes were removed from the chests to accommodate speakers for an electronic instrument. Surviving pipework has now been dispersed to various places. My source of information is a personal visit to the organ chambers. (Database Manager. March 31, 2015)
