Notes

  • Information from The WurliTzer Pipe Organ – An Illustrated History by David L. Junchen (comp. & ed. Jeff Weiler). The American Theatre Organ Society, 2005.
    Wurlitzer "Style 200 3m"
    Factory date: February 2, 1929 (Steven E. Lawson. August 3, 2017)
  • Built for Latonia Theatre, Oil City, Pennsylvania. At an unknown time, sold to George Shaw, a philanthropist of Franklin, Pennsylvania, who stored the organ at his residence. In 1988, Mr. Shaw donated the organ to the Venango Museum of Art, Science, and Industry, in Oil City, Pennsylvania. (Steven E. Lawson. Unknown)
  • Volunteers replaced all of the internal parts of the windchests, regulators, wind work, etc., working in the basement of the museum. The organ was then installed in a single chamber on the main floor of the museum; the percussions and special effects are outside of the chamber. Refurbishing of the pipework, renovation of the console, and setup of the Artisan control system was performed under the direction of Dennis Unks of Organ Supply Industries of Erie, Pennsylvania. Robert Fischer from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, directed the tonal finishing. (Steven E. Lawson. August 7, 2017)
  • The organ was completed by 1997 and debuted by a local player: 16-year-old Taylor (Cameron) Carpenter. (Steven E. Lawson. August 7, 2017)
