Technical Details

Electro-pneumatic (EP) pitman chests.

Four manuals. 6 divisions. 40 stops. 51 registers. 44 ranks. 2973 pipes. Manual compass is 61 notes. Pedal compass is 32 notes.

The organ is in chambers to the sides at the front of the room. There are no visible pipes. Traditional style console with roll top. The console is in a fixed position, center.

Drawknobs in vertical rows on angled jambs. Balanced swell shoes/pedals, standard AGO placement. Combination Action: Remote pneumatic/mechanical capture system. AGO Standard (concave radiating) pedalboard.

  • "Also has a 2m. chapel console which controls selected stops of the Gt., Ch., and Ped. Divisions. Rebuilt by LaMarche in 1937." (OHS PC Database. 2004-10-30)
  • Updated through online information from William Catanesye. -- A LaMarche "Melodic Celeste," a tapered Ludwigtone, was added to the organ shortly after it was built. The organ was not rebuilt by LaMarche. Releathering done in the 1960s and 1990s. Complete restoration by the Spencer Organ Co. of Waltham, Massachusetts and tonal restoration by Jeff Weiler 2005-2006, Dedication recital in July 2006. (Database Manager. 2006-05-12)
